Tasting Notes
Beautiful ruby red color immediately catches the eye. If you hold your nose above the glass, you will smell the pleasant aromas of fresh red fruit, such as raspberry, cherry & blackcurrant. You will also recognize hints of licorice and roasted coffee in the scent. It has a nice round mouthfeel with a good body, firm tannins and vanilla notes. The wine owes this to the fact that part of the wine matures in oak barrels. The firm tannins are nicely balanced by a subtle, fresh acidity and juicy fruitiness.
Pairing
Goes perfectly with white meat, such as rabbit, but also with lamb, duck and grilled meat. Also surprisingly good with sweet and sour or slightly spicy dishes and spicy cheeses.
